While the reason we go on a diet is usually to lose weight that’s actually the last thing that is going to happen.
You see, your body is incredibly grateful for the healthier lifestyle but before weight loss can happen it wants to get more important systems back on track…you know, for survival.
So first you will start sleeping better, YEAH! Of course, feeling rested is great! Why isn’t the scale moving?
Then your energy will increase, WHOOP! Who doesn’t want to get more done in a day? Of course, my jeans still don’t fit.
Then your pants start to feel looser, HALLELUJAH! Why isn’t the scale moving!??? (Um, wasn’t the goal to get in those dang pants?)
And then the scale moves! Yeah! Wait…who cares, my pants fit a week ago!
Moral of the story? Give your body time to heal, reset and then it will lose weight. Stay the course on your healthy habits and trust that they are working in a kind of behind the scenes way and quit sabotaging them on the weekends, STAY THE COURSE.
